For more than 50 years, the physician-researchers and bench scientists at RUSH – consistently ranked among the top five orthopedic programs in the country by U.S. News & World Report — have been dedicated to advancing new solutions in orthopedic care.

RUSH remains among the most influential orthopedic programs in the world, with colleagues citing RUSH sports medicine researchers more frequently than any other group in over 8,000 scholarly publications each year.

The physician-scientists at RUSH have spearheaded research advances that have helped countless elite athletes and weekend warriors return to activity, prevent injury, and avoid major surgery. Our team continues to lead the field and oversees more than 150 scientific studies that fall within four major categories:
