One year after my cartilage transplant procedure in my knee and setting my marathon PR
Ratings Ratings Ratings Ratings Ratings - October 12, 2022

Before undergoing my osteochondral allograft transplantation procedure just last October after last year’s marathon I was very active but endured injuries and dealt with chronic knee pain and swelling. No matter what I tried, I wasn’t getting relief & was very frustrated.

To get this point, 1 year after my OATS surgery, not only has it taken perseverance and determination but time and dedication. Following post-op directions, I completed physical therapy (I still incorporate into my workouts several days a week), and strengthened my knee easing back into my intense workout routine and gradually back to running. As a result, I was able to set a PR at this year’s Chicago marathon. I wanted to share and say thank you.
