- July 14, 2026 I was just sitting here today reminiscing on the incredibly full, adventurous, and borderline crazy life I’ve been able to live, and it hit me how none of it would have been the same—or even possible—if it wasn’t for you. I wanted to send a long-overdue update and express my deepest gratitude for the cartilage transplant you performed on my knee roughly 12 to 13 years ago. I wanted to let you know just how profoundly that successful surgery changed the entire trajectory of my life.
Thanks to your incredible work, I was able to return to sports about a year and a half after the procedure. I went on to play basketball for three years, joined the football team my senior year, and picked up tennis during my junior and senior years.
But beyond high school sports, the knee you repaired has allowed me to explore the world in ways I never thought possible. Over the last decade, I have traveled to over 40 countries and pushed my body to the absolute limit. I’ve explored the ancient trails of Machu Picchu and crushed one of the hardest hikes of my life at Huascarán National Park in Peru, hiked some of Banffs beautiful mountains, trekked the Patagonia in Chile, summited two volcanoes in Guatemala, walked for miles on the Great Wall of China, hiked the mountain ridges of the Portuguese island of Madeira, tackled a Via Ferrata in Switzerland, trekked through Cócora Valley in Colombia, and even biked down the infamous "Death Road" in Bolivia.
None of the life I have lived over the last dozen years would have been possible without the cartilage transplant you provided. You didn't just fix my knee; you gave me my freedom and my future back. Thank you again for your expertise, your dedication, and for changing my life.
