- May 20, 2026 Nearly one year after ACL reconstruction, M.C. is back on the court doing what she loves.
Following surgery last June, M.C. fully committed herself to the recovery process — and earned her way back to competitive play.
She started slow and built her way back to a top position on her high school badminton team. Playing doubles allowed her to focus on a gradual, measured recovery and led to her and her partner qualifying for the IHSA State Tournament.
This season, M.C. earned first-place finishes at her conference tournament in both second doubles and sixth singles, receiving All-Conference honors along the way.
Now, she is preparing to compete at the IHSA State Tournament.
M.C.’s recovery journey is a true testament to her resilience, strength, and determination.
