Breaking bad habits is difficult, and establishing healthy lifestyle habits on a long-term basis can be equally challenging. Achieving success requires a dedicated effort to make both physical and mental changes. Though many of us live stressful, demanding lives, with just a little tweaking here and there, we can develop habits that will help us live longer, healthier and more productive lives. And, just like on the playing field, a knowledgeable coach can help motivate, educate, and inspire us to make healthy lifestyle changes.

Karen Malkin is a board-certified integrative health coach who shares her passion for nutrition, fitness, and healthy living with the patients she coaches. In her health coaching practice, she uses motivational interviewing skills and works with patients to take an integrative approach that focuses on what she considers the seven core areas of health: nutrition, movement, relationships, spirituality, sleep, resilience, and environment.

In the latest Sports Medicine Weekly podcast, Dr. Cole talks with Karen Malkin about how she coaches patients to create healthy lifestyle habits, and what often stands in the way of doing so. Listen in and learn how you can become empowered to make changes that will help you live the life you desire, and deserve.
